Question: Parents, the beach or the mountains?

( Back )

Answer #1:

Beach. Beautiful and warm :)

*By the way, that's nice of you parents to offer that. I hope that means they are turning a new leaf :)

Answer #2:

I would be torn, but have to go with the beach! You never know for sure if she will want to ski/enjoy it, but at the beach you can build memories by favorite places to eat or a good boardwalk. My family actually bought a beach condo and I always bragged about it to my friends because it was so fun-always the highlight of the year.

p.s. I miss you on Facebook!

Answer #3:

Maybe do one this year and one next year? I prefer the beach but I love the ocean. Mountains are pretty but my husband and I both hate heights. I'd say take a vote on it or do the one you like best.

Answer #4:

the mountains

Answer #5:

Beach!!! You could do that every year too.

Answer #6:

Personally I would choose the mountains only because we live 10 minutes from the ocean and so we go to the beach almost every day in the summer. We have never been skiing and I think it would be so fun and then to get all cozy in a cabin by a fire with hot chocolate and hang out...so cool! That's what I would pick even though I HATE being cold and I love the beach, I would want to do something different.

If you don't ever get to do either then I guess either would be great. I LOVE the beach, it's so relaxing and so much fun being out in the waves, my kids love the beach and digging giant holes in the sand making sand structures, etc...

Answer #7:

Only you can make that decision. Since I live in a cold climate with long winters, I would pick Florida - it would be more of a "getaway" to go there in winter. I can ski at home any time. Pick the one that's most unique for your family. Another consideration: our kids tend to remember the vacations that had more action involved - lying on the beach was nice for me, but what they liked best was doing active things.

Answer #8:

I'm biased because I've lived in Florida for a while now, but I would definitely pick the mountains. Sure, it seems all fun and whatever at the beach, but then you have to deal with people being indecent in appearance and how they carry themselves and how they act towards others (i.e. drunken affrays, making out in plain view of your family, etc.). Also, seagulls are evil. The sun down here is horrible, so if your family is fair-skinned, you better get prepared to virtually ingest sunscreen in order to keep from getting blistered. The list goes on.

Answer #9:

I've never been skiing so I would want to go just to see how it is and to have fun but I am a person who always stays cold so in the winter/cold places I'm freezing no matter what. So I'd pick the beach. Swimming Suit, Sun, and Shopping. The S words of fun!!!!!

Answer #10:

The beach! Florida is amazing... there is alot more you can do there.

Answer #11:

I personally would pick the mountains. I am not a huge fan of the beach and I would rather go to the mountains.

Good luck making a decision! :)

Answer #12:

It really depends on how old the child is. The beach would be easier with a younger child. But if you do enjoy winter sports, you can have your child on skis at a few years old. The mountain vacation will be a lot more work for you. Teaching the child to ski. Bundling the child up. Accepting that she may not last very long outside if it's too cold. We skied all the time growing up. My Mom had us on skis at 2 or 3 years old, but we went 6 or 7 times a year, so it wasn't like we forgot how to ski between the years. My Dad hates skiing, so he'd hang out in the lodge with the kids who didn't want to go out.
