Question: Could I have swine flu?

Answer #1:

There's always a chance.
It seems like the regular flu but you should see a doctor immediatly!

Answer #2:

You can't be diagnosed online, sight unseen, untested and by some one other than an NP, PA DO or MD.

Your symptoms suggest flu, it's flu season after all. We stopped calling it swine flu this spring once it changed enough genetically to infect humans. It's the novel H1N1 flu. Without specific testing, there's no way to know from your specific symptoms if this is novel H1N1 flu, seasonal H3N2 flu, type B flu or seasonal H1N1 flu. The 3 symptoms that make novel H1N1 flu stand out from the others are nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea in all ages. Not everyone with novel H1N1 flu experiences all or any of these symptoms. But using common sense, you may have been exposed to novel flu when that someone visited your home.

Asking if you "could" or "do" have a specific flu is sort of like consulting a Magic 8 Ball. Yes you COULD but DO you? I can't answer that. The Magic 8 Ball says "The probability is high".
